Terms of service

Last updated 19 September 2026. By making an account, playing on Ryker's Realm, or buying Donor Points, you agree to these terms.

1. What Ryker's Realm is

Ryker's Realm is a private, fan-run game server for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, run as a hobby by a private individual in the United States. It is free to play. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Blizzard Entertainment, Inc.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for everything done with your account.
Give a working email address. It is the only way to recover the account if you lose the password.
One person may hold several accounts, but not to evade a ban.
Do not sell, share or transfer your account.

3. Rules of play

Accounts may be warned, suspended or banned for:

Cheating, exploiting bugs, or using automation the realm has not allowed.
Harassing, threatening or abusing other players or staff, in game, on the forums, in private messages, or in the Discord.
Advertising other servers, or trading realm items, gold, accounts or Donor Points for real money.
Attacking the realm's servers or trying to gain access you were not given.
Posting content that is illegal, or that sexualises minors.

Staff decide what breaks these rules. If you think a decision was wrong, email rykersrealm@gmail.com and we will look at it again.

4. Donor Points

Donor Points are a licence to use a feature of the realm, not property. You do not own them and they are not a deposit, credit or investment.
They have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts or players, and cannot be exchanged for money except through the refund policy.
Buying them is optional. No part of the realm requires them.
Prices and the items available may change at any time. Points you already hold are not devalued by a price change.
You must be 18 or older, or have a parent or guardian's permission, to buy.
Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

5. If the realm closes

This is a hobby project and it may stop one day. If we decide to shut the realm down permanently, we will give at least 30 days' notice in the launcher and the Discord, stop selling Donor Points immediately, and refund unspent points bought in the previous 90 days on request. Remaining unspent points can be spent during the notice period.

6. Downtime and changes

The realm runs on hardware in a private home. It may go down for maintenance, power cuts, or faults, sometimes without warning. Characters, items and progress may be changed, reset or lost as a result of faults, backups being restored, or balance changes. We do our best to avoid it and to put things right, but the realm is provided as-is with no guarantee of availability or of your progress being preserved.

7. Limits

To the extent the law allows, Ryker's Realm is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the realm. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory consumer rights.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the launcher and the Discord. The date at the top shows when they last changed.
